LARNAKA, CYPRUS – The local carrier, Cyprus Airways, announced a new baggage policy, effective only for Basic fare tickets, booked from 4th of December 2019 and traveling from 29 March 2020 onward.
The changes allow for a simpler baggage structure that best caters to the differing needs of passengers, providing greater flexibility. The company announced at the same time that their basic fares will be reduced by EUR 10*, effective same dates as above.
Passengers holding a basic fare ticket are allowed a small personal item (hand-bag or laptop or back-pack), which they can place under the seat in front of them. Customers can customize their travel experience based on their needs. The option of adding a 10Kg checked baggage is available through all sales channels at the low price of 10 euros. (Applied per direction/unit).
For Flex fare ticket holders, the baggage allowance remains as it is, i.e. 23kg checked luggage, 10kg cabin bag and a small personal item.
Passengers must ensure that the fare type they buy meets all their baggage needs while the company’s advice is to further explore flex option for carefree experience and maximum flexibility.
